Next week, the Epic Games Store will get a feature that has long been in development for the storefront. No, it's not a shopping cart. No, it's not user reviews, support forums, the ability to gift games, a newsfeed, Linus and MacOS support, or even local streaming. Nope, it's achievements.

Epic announced, via their blog, that they are about to rollout the first go at the Epic Achievements system. This system will be released next week. It will allow you to earn achievements and XP in a select number of titles to begin with. The supported games at launch include: Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena, Zombie Army 4, Alan Wake Remastered, and more.

As noted, there will be an XP system also utilized.

Epic Achievements are sorted into four tiers based on their XP value, with the Platinum Achievement being awarded upon earning 1000 XP in a game. Here are the Epic Achievement tiers and the amount of additional XP you get for the Achievement:

Bronze = 5-45 XP
Silver = 50-95 XP
Gold = 100-200 XP
Platinum = 250 XP
Epic Achievements will also feature a details page for your achievements. You can share and even track your achievement progress there. This page will show your progress made towards earning an achievement and highlight achievements you're close to unlocking.

Epic Games says that they will have "more updates you've been waiting for as (they) drop new social features and player rewards later this year."
